MOV Film Festival

The keywords connect with the audience because of what words were chosen and how they kind of explain what our movie trailer is all about. Another reason why our keywords can connect with our audience is because they are constantly in the narration and they kind of pull you into the story and help you relate to it easier because at one point you or a friend has been bullied before and what we're trying to say in the film is to treat people the way you want to be treated without expecting something in return.

Our overall message is like I said in the 1st paragraph to try and tell people to treat people like you would yourself. Also we wanted to do this film from the bullies point of view (played by Jaesha Mata)and to tell the story from her eyes and also the eyes of the victim (played by Kyllie Belmonte). What my team and I have learned over filming and writing scripts is that we each individually have had experience with bullies and we have overcome it with friends.

The biggest challenge that we faced was getting everyone together to film the scenes. Also, while we were filming one shot we were getting attacked by mosquitoes because we were completely surrounded by trees and bushes also little puddles of water. The other big challenge was getting the shots ready and keeping the camera steady like on one scene we had to film it on a trampoline and you know how hard filming on a trampoline is unless you want to have a shaky shot and it's supposed to look like that. Overall the biggest challenge was filming because it took forever like 3 hours for a 2-3 minute film and we still don't have enough film to be completely done.

Character Development

I am the type of person that can be outgoing and has a lot of energy. I enjoy playing soccer and sometimes go to the beach. Some imperfections that I have are trying to make everything perfect because I have partial OCD and being a perfectionist and all I can't go by a day without having a mental breakdown and having to fix everything all over again. For example I have a set of pens that is color coordinated and the tips are perfect and my sister decided she wanted to use them the problem was she doesn't lightly draw with the pens, she SMASHES them until there's pretty much NOTHING left!

Some character traits I plan to exaggerate are being a perfectionist and having mental breakdowns over everything. Some other things that I plan to exaggerate and make myself look life like and possibly animating to make everything look as real as possible and then again at the same time make it look animated. While helping put input into my partners animations. For Kacie we would make her insecure and kind of exaggerate her obsessions like youtube and of course marvel. For Raja we would have her cartwheel all over the place because she does gymnastics.

The step by step process of creating the GIF is to first of all cutting out your picture from your background and making an animation. Next you have to start moving your character while making other frames and adding puppet warp by going to edit and puppet warp. Next you have to start adding your points and voila, you have an animated GIF. I personally like my GIF character because of how I animated it and yes it does look like I'm trying to fly but it was fun to make and overall it turned out better than I would have thought.

Tiny Spherical Worlds

In GT we have been working on a new project called tiny spherical worlds and to make them you had to take about 10-15 pictures to make a panorama in photoshop by photo-merging the pictures into a panorama the reason why you need more than 1 composite image because in order to make a spherical world you need to overlap photos and make it into a huge panorama, if you do only take one picture then your out of luck and might want to reconsider your position and take some extra photos. If you do have only photo then it may be possible to do it but it would be harder to do to make a panorama and a little world with it being big enough to see. Another reason why 1 composite image isn't enough is because then that one image alone wouldn't be able to stretch far enough to make a tiny world.

The difference between a spherical and polar world is in the spherical the background is white and the polar background is black. Next, the polar has the sky on the inside of the world and the spherical has the sky surrounding the world as if it's floating in space. Another reason why they are different is because the polar when it's a panorama you have to flip it 180 degrees so it's upside down then you have to go to the polar coordinates and make it into a tiny world on the other hand the spherical world you don't have to flip it upside down.

Something that makes my tiny worlds convincing is for one they are circular. Two they are trees and mountains that are in a world. 3 they are very colorful and look realistic. 4 like this <- it looks like one house on the world which I live in. Lastly you can't see any seams sealing the world together with the stamp tool. Overall I think that my worlds look pretty realistic because of the background and there are no people on my world other than me ;)

Hockney Style Joiners

David Hockney's photomontages are different from mine because his photos are professionally done and he has been doing this for years and we just started for the first time. On my photomontage I took the pictures outside and I took mostly took them of the tree that my subject Alina was underneath to make it look like it was covering her like a giant umbrella even though the tree didn't look that big in real life. Another reason why my photomontages are different from David Hockney's is because his photomontages show emotion but we just started so it doesn't really capture emotion.

I think my photomontage can send a positive message by if you look at it you can tell that it's for hula and by that I dance hula. I'm not sure what kind of emotion it would bring other than confidence for me when I dance at the hula Hoike on stage with my other hula piers.

What I want my audience to see in my final is that it's like a commitment and something that is very meaningful to me personally. I think that it's pretty clear to see the image like what it supposed to be even though it's mixed up. The audience might see it as okay it's a photomontage of hula stuff or they might see it as a drum and bamboo sticks but they have a deeper meaning than just a couple of supplies for an activity it helps me do what I love even if I'm in doubt I can depend on perfecting it throughout practice with me knowing I can do it no matter what.

2016 Aspirations

My five goals for the new year I will attain in 2016 are (1) not to have a new years resolution (BTW this has been going for the last 8 years).(2) Finish the whole Harry Potter series books and of course also the movies.(3) Convince my parents to get another dog to keep our other dog bailey company.(4) Get straight A's in 7th grade and possibly the beginning of 8th.(5) Lastly I NEED to convince my soccer coach to stay and wait till we graduate so we can all still play soccer.

The most important goal to me is getting straight A's in 7th grade because I have always been close and off by just one or two B's so this quarter I'm determined to complete my goal. Another one of the most important goals for me is to convince my soccer coach to stay because without her I don't know who would coach me or the rest of my team for soccer. she has been my coach for about 4 or 5 years so she can't just leave now but, then again she's been threatening us by saying she's leaving us to go to vegas but then again she's been saying that for the last 3 years but still we have to convince her to stay.

The steps I will do to make sure I ensure my success are making sure I keep up in my classes to get the straight A's. The next one is to complete the Harry potter series every year as a tradition my sister and I started ever since all the Harry Potter movies came out. Next I have to never have another new years resolution because it's too much to have to keep track of what your gonna do in the new years so now I stick to the easiest resolution... not to have a resolution and to be honest it's going pretty good so far.

Scratch Game Design

I think my user experience influenced my game by wanting the smoothest way for the octopus to move. I think I wanted to do more and make my game like really good but if you played my game you would understand that it isn't all that good so I'm gonna be working on it again and see if i can fix it to be better and possibly make more levels to be more challenging and fun at the same time. Another reason my user experience influenced my game by helping me program my game to be bug free and making it all different.

I think the best features in my games are that they move smooth and easy and that the colors all either contrast and stand out or they have the same color scheme. My personal favorite is the sprites and how they look and the colors they are. Another one of the best features on my game is that they are challenging but fun even though they aren't done

Invention Commercial

My team is Kyllie Belmonte, Alina Puig and me Cara Griffin. Our main goal was to make a product that would be quick and easy to use and it would be able to do your hair for you and it would turn out amazing! (I know it's a little, okay a total crazy idea but it was so fun filming it). We ran into quite a bit of problems but we just went with it and to be honest we had some pretty funny bloopers from Alina but we didn't have enough time because it had to be within 30-50 seconds long so I guess it's okay though :)

I think the best team moment was when we were done filming we all started jumping everywhere because we were stuck in the bathroom for about 2-3 hours so we went totally crazy. After that my mom kicked us out of the house for jumping around to much and said for us to just go on the trampoline so we did but... we brought tons of water balloons on the trampoline and then got soaked in the hose and had to wait outside to dry off for about another hour. I thought just to waste time it would be a brilliant idea to start rolling down our concrete hill but :0 bad idea we went to fast and got rocks implanted in our arms but to be honest it was pretty amazing ;)

When we were editing I went on the computer next to Alina and started looking for sound affects to add for music or like the sound when Alina popped in the shot and it made the cork popping sound. Alina and I also found the music we would put in the background instead of it being just plain voice overs. Kyllie was the one telling us if we should lengthen or shorten the video clips and checked over the final product. All three of us all think that we did a pretty good job over all. The reason why Alina edited on her computer was because on the last project we edited on my computer I picked the music because it was last minute when we realized we needed background sounds and Kyllie overlooked the final product and helped edit because she was the team leader and she decided who did what.

We were also one of the top three winning inventions in the class critique!
